Wiki Skills is mainly funded by EU because if fits into the European strategy for education and culture. It is part of a, so called, Lifelong Learning Program.
Five bullet points starting with a very general goal, proceeding down to the practical objectives of the project:
Promote creativity, competitiveness, employability and entrepreneurial spirit, equity, social cohesion and active citizenship
To empower and foster wiki usage
To develop training courses to strengthen wiki skills.
Enable educational communities to contribute to the actual information society
Develop a sustainable virtual community of practice among the different project countries
The project is run by a consortium of eight organizations from 5 European countries, coordinated by Ynernet.org (Switzerland). The training courses will run in all these countries.
